Margaret Kirk, CPHC®, Assoc. AIA, is an award-winning designer and artist, educated in New York and Florence, Italy, with extensive experience in design, construction and project management. She is a CPHC and is currently certifying a Passive House in Utah. An architecture faculty member at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and a former faculty member at the Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts in New York City, she has taught building technology, media and communication technology, design studios and interdisciplinary design courses.
Margaret is the owner of the architectural consultancy, studio.341-b, and her work includes a diverse portfolio ranging from small exhibitions to large eco-resorts, high-end to affordable housing. What got her involved with the Phius Alliance was her "concern for the building industry in light of the climate crisis." Margaret has noticed that many people are unaware of the Phius model and hopes to educate the public on understanding Passive building to be a more viable way of making building infrastructure less taxing on the environment and a more economical solution, especially as the codes are becoming more stringent.
