Neil Rosen joined the Phius certification team in 2022. He is a New York State Registered Architect, LEED Fellow, Certified Energy Manager, Phius Certified Consultant (CPHC®), and Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager with more than 35 years of experience in the design, construction, and operations of healthcare facilities. His undergraduate degree and master’s degrees were earned at the New York Institute of Technology, in Architecture and Energy Management, respectively.
Neil is the Immediate Past Vice Chairman of the Indoor Environmental Quality Technical Advisory Group for USGBC National, as well as a past Chairman of the Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group.
Locally, Mr. Rosen serves as a Board Member for the USGBC-LI Chapter, and is a past Board Member for the AIA-Long Island Chapter, where he chaired the Sustainable Design Committee.
Neil is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Architecture and Design at the New York Institute of Technology, currently instructing students in sustainable design, building construction, building code, ADA and environmental systems.
Working with the Urban Green Council, Neil is actively training architects, engineers, contractors and code officials about the new NYC Energy Conservation Code. To date, Neil has trained more than 2,000 Architects and Engineers in New York State about the nuances of the current energy code.
Formerly, Neil served as the Director of Sustainability for Northwell Health, a large non-profit health system in the Greater NYC area. While there, he was responsible for initiating and coordinating the System’s Sustainability Initiatives. He successfully led his team to 20 LEED certifications including 3 at the Platinum Level and 4 at the Gold Level.
